Michael Recycle along with Litter Bug Doug visited BSLK this week. Children learned the importance of not littering and more about recycling. Children are encouraged to recycle at school and to tell family and friends about recycling at home. With Albertville's curb pick up recycling is easy! The Albertville recycling center is also conveniently located downtown Albertville for 24/7 drop off. Please join the students, faculty and staff at BSLK along with the city of Albertville and recycle, reduce and reuse. If you want to become more involved in recycling or have any questions about what can be recycled please visit the City of Albertville Recycling or Keep Albertville Beautiful.

RECYCLE, RECYCLE, RECYCLE
We started our recycling unit this week! I hope everyone starts recycling at home if you do not already. Ask your child, it's easy! We kicked off our unit with Emeraldalicious by Victoria Kann. Every student, faculty and staff member signed a pledge to be green. Rumor has it we will be visited by a recycling super hero next week!!

Dr. Booklove visited the library this week and read What Happened to Marion's Book? by Brooke Berg. Marion did not take very good care of her library book and had to pay to replace the damaged book. Dr. Booklove taught us about taking care of library books. After the lesson students checked out their first library book to take home.
