This week we discussed Internet Safety and Digital Citizenship. I stressed to the students when at home they need a grown up to help them find a computer site that is 'kid friendly'. Officer Buckle and Gloria by Peggy Rathmann was a fun book to read and Safety Tip #101 is the most important. Read the book to find out the safety tip.

A Visit From Mike Artell

The students really enjoyed a visit from Mike Artell! It was great to hear him tell the story of Petite Rouge and ole Claude de Gator. He shared pictures of his family and we found out one of his daughters is and Auburn graduate. Each child had the opportunity to draw with Mr. Mike, race cars, dinosaurs, castle, animals and silly faces, the students loved it! We have some wonderful artist at BSLK!

Be cool about fire safety!

Do you know what happens when a dragon sneezes? We read No Dragons for Tea  (Fire Safety for Kids) by Jean E. Pendziwol and found out! This week, we talked about fire safety and what do in a fire emergency. Please talk about fire safety at home, check batteries in your smoke detector and practice a home fire drill.
