This week we learned about China! Did you know more people live in China than in any other country in the world? We learned how to say hello in Chinese "Nee How" and also did some Chinese writing. Panda taught us things that were invented in China, as well as things used in China today when we read When Panda Came to Our House by Helen Zane Jensen.

It's still cold!
This week we followed up with our unit on the Arctic by reading Mama Do You Love Me? by Barbara M. Joosse. A sweet story and full of facts about the Inuit people, we also learned new words. Be sure you have on your parka and your mukluks before you head out of your igloo in this freezing weather.

BRRRRR welcome 2012
When we left the library we had a warm cozy gingerbread house but when we returned it had magically turned into an igloo! So we snuggled up with a good book, The Three Snow Bears by Jan Brett. A great way to start of our unit on the Arctic and also a great book to review settings and characters.
